The Birthday Boys

Today is Daddy's Birthday! This whole week has been breathtaking! And today it's 90 and humid and the day he is in the yard digging and putting that retaining wall up. It could have gone up on Tuesday, but the town people thought we wanted to put the pool on the wall. Geeze. Wayne came on Wednesday night to fix the hole for the pool and then told dad he would come back on Thursday and tell him a short-cut way to do the retaining wall -- but dad waited all night --- and he never came. We hope he is all right. Anyway - it figures that on his birthday, in the heat, he is out there digging and building. We'll make it up to him this weekend. We are going to Shadows on the Hudson for dinner and then some birthday cake and camp fire in the yard. It's George's birthday too.

I am so thrilled for Bryant and Kristie. Just about Kristie's whole family is going with them to Virginia!! That is so wonderful. They are really so supportive of everything they do. I can't wait to come and see Virginia myself! Right on the ocean.

A Challenge

So Jake and I have been watching a lot of tv and decided to take pick at least one day of the week and not turn on the TV at all. We challenge you guys to do the same. We are going to do Mon ( our fam home evening day). So, we challenge you guys to do the same...no TV, no movies, and no excessive internet surfing for one day a week. Go for a walk, a hike, start reading a book together, clean, make dinner together, do random service for people you don't know, go to bed early! Let me know how it all goes!

hi Ya'll (thats what everyone says here in TX) Jeron and I have made great friends with Vanessa And Eder..... (jeron works with him) They are really down to earth and are SO good with charly. They are our age and both mexican.....(jeron fits right in with them... lol kidding) Last night the 4 1/2 of us went to a carnival.... we all took turns riding the rides and watching charly.... then we all stuffed our faces with corn on the cob, cotton candy (which charly loved), and caramel apples YUMM. we watched all the animals in the petting zoo, got fake tattoos (some things never get old) and just sat and talked. It was so fun. It just made me feel so good.....Just in the sense of me and jeron and charly being our own little family in Texas..... 100's of miles from where we were raised..........being on our own... not depending on anyone anymore.... and being so happy together.
