Hettinger Happenings

We had a great Memorial Day - it started with a parade in Hyde Park - we all wore our red, white and blue! Then we went to Whaley Lake. Dad's jetski broke first thing, but it was spectacular day. We were with the Ashworths, the Prettymans, the Coppollas and the rest of the ward. Lots of fun! Charly climbed on the table and stole one of dad's birthday cupcakes!!

This is Will's first attempt at eating cereal. I still think he like eating his hands better than he liked his cereal. Most of the cereal ended up on his bib. He's a pretty fu nny guy.

We had such a great weekend visiting with Will and Bryant and Kristie and Stacey and Jake and the new puppy!! It was great to be with our kids and baby grandson and see how happy and strong their families are. What an amazing blessing. This is baby Will singing for Grandma!

So.....last night around 10 pm I called dad to ask where he was and he said "New Jersey!" How crazy is that. He went with Eric and Buddy from Buddy's Mobil to get Eric a new Harley.........At least he is hanging out with guys his own age now. I just love him to pieces.

Happy Mother's Day to all our favorite ladies! We will be enjoying a quiet non mothers day!! But we admire all the amazing woman in our lives who are mothers including... Suzanne, Linda, Grandma Hettinger, Grandma Nelson, Grandma Joy, Aunt Julie, Aunt Julie, Aunt Tammi, Aunt Claudia, Aunt Joanna, Aunt Karen, Aunt Patty, Aunt Evelyn, Sharon, Kristie, and Messy.

Wonder what would happen if we treated our Book of Mormon like our cell phones? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we turned back to get it if we forgot it? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we spent an hour or more using it each day? What if we used it to receive messages from its text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it as we traveled? What if we used it in case of an emergency? This is something to make you go ...Hummm...where is my Book of Mormon?

I was reading in the April Ensign and really loved the Presidency Message from President Monson. He talked about how we need to learn from the past, prepare for the future and Live in the Present. I really like the quote that says "every day in your life is a special occasion...Each day, each hour, each minute is special." I never really thought of that until now watching Will grow each day. Hearing him cooing and watching him hold his head up without looking like a bobble head. We took Will to the beach for the first time and he loved his feet in the sand but when the water came up it was a bit cold. Every moment with Will is a special occasion. And we are so blessed to be his parents. With mothers day coming up I have really been thinking about it....I have a new respect for our mothers and for the events they endured as they raised us. I know that it was filled with special firsts and some heartach but mostly filled with a love that is so strong. Thank you for not giving u...
