Finally

I am finally feeling a little more like my old self. I lost 13-18 lbs. since the surgery depending on what scale I am on. Yeah - so happy to be feeling a little better!!

Surgery was Monday

My surgery for gastric bypass was Monday. The surgery itself went very well, so I am told. The doctors and nurses were fantastic. I was so glad to come home to my own family. The next two days were awful for me. I felt so nausea and lightheaded. I feared I was becoming dehydrated because I just couldn't get anything down. Then I asked for a blessing from Jake and Bill and immediately I was better. The nausea has subsided and I look forward to this new journey. Thanks to all of you for your support.

trip to Utah

Jake and I made it acoss the country, and had so much fun along the way. Getting to Utah wasn't the easiest thing as I made sure to leave Maryland at 1pm to make it to Newark for my 8:30pm flight just to watch the flight delayed twice pushing it back two hours. And not that a delayed flight is all that bad, but by the time I had arrived into Las Vegas, my connecting flight to Utah had already left, and I had to spend the night on the not so comfy airport seats. The next morning I had to take a flight to Arizonia, and then take another connecting flight into Salt Lake. Man..next time I'll just pay the extra for a non stop! But i got into SLC, and drove myself up to Logan. I got to spend a little time in that little town that I truely love soooo much. I love the places jess and i ate and worked, and lived and played, and shopped, and it was my time to finally say goodbye to it all. My graduation weekend was so rushed, and i didnt have time to just enjoy Logan once more. So...tha...

DISCO BALL

Tonight is a 70's dance at church and dear old dad is the DJ. And guess what, he got an afro wig and a white suit! How funny is that. He is all excited -- I'll put sure to post pictures!

Britain's Got Talent

Here is a clip of a video of Paul Potts, cell phone repairman in England, auditioning for Britain's Got Talent. Dad saw this on Good Morning America and cried like a baby!!! I got tinkling goose bumps all over. It's is simply amazing!! Bound to give you a smile!

Disney Trip

Image
So I was thinking that around Thanksgiving of next year I might be dying to go to Disney. Anyone else??? Denise is going in 2 weeks and she's got me craving it. Denise went to a travel agent last year, arranged her trip, made a deposit and has it paying it off all year. Now all set to go. Good Idea right. They are renting a cabin in the campgrounds of Disney, which is pretty nice. Anyway - we have almost 1 1/2 years to save!!

I Did It!

Image
Tomorrow is my last day at Century High! I did it. It was a really great experience for me....a little taste of what's to come next year. The pics are of my Advanced Student's Iron Chef comp. We have a lime lemon sugar glazed salmon, Citrus Salad, Manadarin Cream Pie, and some other things. Mom Bry Kristie and I had a lot of fun at Harborfest in VA. It was a traffic filled weekend, but the time with bry and kristie was a lot of fun. Mom and I stayed at mom's Favorite Hampton Inn, and we stopped at Walmart...of course, because what would any trip be without a Walmart stop Tomorrow I fly out to Utah to get my mini. I am going to spend a day in Logan, and then Fri Jake and I take off for NY...road trip style. Then its back to work. BOCES for me, and Budget Tree Care for Jake. Is it sept yet??

Flying and the FAA Computer Outage!!

It all sounded much too perfect. A weekend with my kids. I would fly out on my free jetblue ticket to Richmond, Stacey would pick me up and we would stay in a hotel and go to see Bryant and Kristie around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. It all played out like this. I got to JFK, didn't have to check in because I just had carry-on. Looking for something to eat, when I noticed a line at customer service. I went over to see the boards and what was going on when I noticed the flight to Richmond wasn't on the board. So, I asked someone and was told about 3 hours delay. So me, being so savvy, decided to change my flight to Washington DC since that was leaving on time. No sooner did I hang up with Stacey to tell her a change in plans, the flight was canceled. I hurried back to customer services with my pizza in my hand was was told the flight to Richmond was also canceled. So was every other flight!! I figured I could get on a train to Maryland, but the next train was leaving ...

Break Down at the Gym

so...I just got out of a body scultping class and thought I would do 30 min on the elliptical. So...I grab a Woman's Life magazine, and start reading this story about a daughter who is driving around her mother who has Alzehiemers (spelling?), and her mother doesn't remember who she is, and she has to keep telling her mother that she is her daughter. She talks about how all her life they had this special hand squeeze that her mother did; three squeezes representing "I Love you" She said her mother gave her that squeeze when she got hurt as a little girl, and as she struggled as a teenager, and when she tried on the perfect wedding dress, and as her son was born. She said watching her mother this way was almost impossible, because she wasn't the same person. So her mom looks at her after she says, "mom, I'm your daughter", and her mom say's " I've loved you forever" and then reaches over and gives her three squeezes. Obviouisly the s...

Yesterday

Well, it was a gorgeous day. Perfect weather. I had the day off to go to the dr. Jess and Jeron decided to take a trip into the city. So, since I was going to Westchester, I dropped them off at the White Plains train station, then Charly and I went to the little park in Silver Lake. The very park you went to and the very park I went to. It was wonderful to share that with her and experience Silver Lake and why it is so beloved to our family. All our Italian heritage is there. As I looked to the right I could almost see my grandma Cabrol walking over to the park. She always came when she knew we would be there. She loved the park so much and the walk over that my dad asked the town supervisor to put benches along the way for her to sit and enjoy. And they did. After that we went to the dr. for a 2 hr appointment. Charly was amazing. She had a little bottle, played and feel asleep in my arms. Then....we met Aunt Vicki for lunch at 3 p.m. Aunt Vicki had an ice cream sundae ...

Moving Into Virginia and our New Truck

Image
Life in Commonwealth of Virginia is good so far. I have started work at Hampton Volvo and it is so cool. Everybody there are great. It has been raining here quite a bit lately and its been kinda cool. We're still trying to get used to the humidity, but we sure love air conditioning. We went out and bought a second vehicle. It's a 1988 Chevy S-10 pickup truck. It's ugly but its gets the job done. It came with a cap on the back but I took it off, it was ugly. But anyway Kristie is doing good and still looking for a job. So life is good!! Love you all!! -Bryant & Kristie P.S. Here are some pictures we took at Jamestown

Favorite Summer Memories

I loved being with the Koons and the Lapes in the summer, going to their house for family reunion and singing songs around the camp fire.

Iron Chef Competition

Image
JAKEY trying to look BAD! Ya doesn't work for him. He's too good of a guy, but he does look pretty cute! He told me this was just a random bike in the parking lot he took a pic on! ha. So.... the school year is ending! My kids mentally checked out weeks ago since I have the majority of seniors. I still enjoy being with them everyday even though they are SOO lazy and think the food lab is their kitchen and I am their mother who cleans up after them. They go over and look in the fridge like they are looking for a late night snack. It's pretty funny. And everyday that they aren't cooking they throw little temper tantrums, because obviously the school should be able to provide all the money in the world for them to cook whatever they want right!?! Well the seniors last day is Wednesday, and so Monday is their cooking final. I have decided to do an Iron Chef Competition, where each team ( team Awesome, team ManEaters, team Purple Flaming Pysco Dragons...) have to create thr...
