Iron Chef Competition

JAKEY trying to look BAD! Ya doesn't work for him. He's too good of a guy, but he does look pretty cute! He told me this was just a random bike in the parking lot he took a pic on! ha.


So.... the school year is ending! My kids mentally checked out weeks ago since I have the majority of seniors. I still enjoy being with them everyday even though they are SOO lazy and think the food lab is their kitchen and I am their mother who cleans up after them. They go over and look in the fridge like they are looking for a late night snack. It's pretty funny. And everyday that they aren't cooking they throw little temper tantrums, because obviously the school should be able to provide all the money in the world for them to cook whatever they want right!?!

Well the seniors last day is Wednesday, and so Monday is their cooking final. I have decided to do an Iron Chef Competition, where each team ( team Awesome, team ManEaters, team Purple Flaming Pysco Dragons...) have to create three parts to a meal..main dish, side dish, and dessert. They are given a KEY INGREDIENT in which they have to incorporate into each part of the meal. They are getting graded on all their cooking procedures, team work, originality, plate presentations, safety, santitation... The key ingredient is CITRUS FRUITS. They came up with some pretty wild recipes. I have teachers from the school coming in to grade them as they cook and then taste each recipe, and pick winners. It will be a lot of fun. The kids were excited. I will have to keep you all posted on how it all pans out.

I plan on taking some pics of their creations, and will have to post them.

Everything else is good. I'm overly anxious for the summer,and so its hard to be here, bored on the weekends when I could be with my fam and Jake. Can't wait to see the pool. I said the 5th. How is it looking?

A Challenge

So Jake and I have been watching a lot of tv and decided to take pick at least one day of the week and not turn on the TV at all. We challenge you guys to do the same. We are going to do Mon ( our fam home evening day). So, we challenge you guys to do the same...no TV, no movies, and no excessive internet surfing for one day a week. Go for a walk, a hike, start reading a book together, clean, make dinner together, do random service for people you don't know, go to bed early! Let me know how it all goes!

hi Ya'll (thats what everyone says here in TX) Jeron and I have made great friends with Vanessa And Eder..... (jeron works with him) They are really down to earth and are SO good with charly. They are our age and both mexican.....(jeron fits right in with them... lol kidding) Last night the 4 1/2 of us went to a carnival.... we all took turns riding the rides and watching charly.... then we all stuffed our faces with corn on the cob, cotton candy (which charly loved), and caramel apples YUMM. we watched all the animals in the petting zoo, got fake tattoos (some things never get old) and just sat and talked. It was so fun. It just made me feel so good.....Just in the sense of me and jeron and charly being our own little family in Texas..... 100's of miles from where we were raised..........being on our own... not depending on anyone anymore.... and being so happy together. I feel like we have come so far from where we were 2 years ago... when I didn't eve...
