Remember When We Met Him?

It was Jessy's first Young Women's Broadcast. She was 12 and we were sitting in the Newburgh chapel. President Faust was the speaker. She nudged me and said, "Remember when we met him?" "Oh yeah", I said, trying to piece it all together. It was October conference 1985, we were in the old Tabernacle. Before conference the General Authorities met and greeted members of the congregation. President Faust approached us and we chatted with him for a little while. "Wait", I thought. Children were not permitted at conference. You kids stayed with the Haynes. As I thought even further, just Stacey and Bryant were with the Haynes, Jessy wasn't even born yet. She was born the next month. So she truly was with us as we met Elder Faust. And for a second, I believe the veil was parted there in the Newburgh chapel and the Spirit brought to her mind the full memory of meeting Elder Faust.

A Challenge

So Jake and I have been watching a lot of tv and decided to take pick at least one day of the week and not turn on the TV at all. We challenge you guys to do the same. We are going to do Mon ( our fam home evening day). So, we challenge you guys to do the same...no TV, no movies, and no excessive internet surfing for one day a week. Go for a walk, a hike, start reading a book together, clean, make dinner together, do random service for people you don't know, go to bed early! Let me know how it all goes!

hi Ya'll (thats what everyone says here in TX) Jeron and I have made great friends with Vanessa And Eder..... (jeron works with him) They are really down to earth and are SO good with charly. They are our age and both mexican.....(jeron fits right in with them... lol kidding) Last night the 4 1/2 of us went to a carnival.... we all took turns riding the rides and watching charly.... then we all stuffed our faces with corn on the cob, cotton candy (which charly loved), and caramel apples YUMM. we watched all the animals in the petting zoo, got fake tattoos (some things never get old) and just sat and talked. It was so fun. It just made me feel so good.....Just in the sense of me and jeron and charly being our own little family in Texas..... 100's of miles from where we were raised..........being on our own... not depending on anyone anymore.... and being so happy together. I feel like we have come so far from where we were 2 years ago... when I didn't eve...
